We live in the era of endless emails and virtual meetings that allow us to talk with our trade partners in fast, convenient and efficient ways. But does it build connection? Does it strengthen relationships with buyers, brokers, distributors, press the same way clinking glasses together for a real life cheers does? We don’t think so.
This year Neolea hasn’t done many big trade shows, instead we’ve opted for smaller gatherings that let us connect with our trade partners in person for real conversations, taking us outside of the virtual world we’re all living in and into real life.

We started in January where we joined some friends in cheese and charcuterie for an after Fancy Food Show gathering inside a local brewery. Important buyers, big and small distributors, executives, sales reps, and press all talking business, but you would barely know. It felt like a room of friends catching up about old times.
When passionate people get together that have a lot to share about their part of the industry and partnerships have been building for years, it can feel more like a party than work. And more than just work gets talked about, life happens and we get to share it together.

In April our CEO Daan had the opportunity to visit San Francisco to connect with our newest hire Kelley, in person in San Francisco. And since the team was going to be together, why not have a little trade party and invite some current relationships and new prospects to eat some great food around a beautiful table spread.
Tasting food together is hard to do over email or video. It’s not the same as having a great bite while learning something new about someone or seeing their reaction to the flavor first-hand. And the Mediterranean grazing spread did not disappoint! With every toast and grilled vegetable made with For the Pan and every dip finished with For the Plate and beautifully incorporating our balsamic vinegars, our catering friends went all out!
Food is the universal language that brings us together. And don’t forget about drinks.

June brought us to New York where the goal was the same. Deepen connections with our existing partners. Specialty olive oil cocktails and mocktails filled the room of the speakeasy basement as we enjoyed curated bites and chatted the night away.
The event doesn’t have to be large, if you have the right people in the room, and of course some great food, not only does business happen, connection does. At Neolea we are all about coming together through taste, and it’s never just to eat, there’s always more.
